Location
Our retreats take place in the middle of the Mediterranean sea on the island of Gozo in Malta. Gozo, which means 'joy', is a little spit of land sitting in the Mediterranean Sea with unique rocky coastal landscape, waters so crystal-clear and the sky so bright blue that you’ll have to rub your eyes to believe what you are seeing. Gozo is the second largest island of the Maltese Archipelago and is an ideal destination for those who treasure a slow, relaxed rhythm of life and cherish unspoilt countryside and being close to the sea.

How to get here?
Fly in to Malta International Airport. There is a direct bus X1 (€2), coaches and taxis, that will take you from the airport directly to the Gozo Ferry Terminal in Cirkewwa. You can also look into shuttle services at www.shuttledirect.com or download the Taxify app, which is an equivalent to Uber, and book a taxi. It takes delightful 20 minutes to cross to Gozo whilst enjoying the views of the sea and the Comino island. You only pay for the ferry when leaving the island (€4.50).

Can you arrange a transfer for me?
Certainly. We can arrange a direct transfer from the airport to the Ferry Terminal in Cirkewwa for you. We will require your flight details including the flight number to proceed with the booking.

Why retreat?
The hustle and bustle of day to day life can over stimulate our busy brains and leave us vulnerable to stress and emotional fragmentation. Retreat is an opportunity to step out of the complexity of your life and embrace new tools that will enable you to live more mindfully, with greater ease and self-kindness. It is also a chance to explore your circumstances from a fresh perspective in the most profound ways. Our retreats combine the fertile atmosphere of Gozitan silence, time for meditation and walks in nature with yoga, mindful movement or elements of equine-assisted therapy. We aspire to support your emotional and personal growth in an atmosphere of safety and kindness.

Why mindfulness?
Through different mindfulness and self-compassion practices you will experience first-hand the impact that developing awareness can have on your mind and body. You will be introduced to a range of skills to help you be more embodied, calm and responsive and less controlled by worry or constant mental chatter. You will learn new tools to help you build your resilience to physical and emotional pain, whether expressed through anxiety, stress or depression.

What types of Yoga and movement?
Our mindful movement sessions include a combination of different styles: Hatha Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, and Naam Yoga and Pilates. Each of these styles provide excellent tools to enhance our sense of embodiment, balance, strength and flexibility and presence in the here and now. The sessions are led in the spirit of nurturing and respecting our limits rather than striving or competition, and are suitable for all, whatever your level of experience. As part of Yoga sessions you will also be introduced to Yogic breathing techniques and Pranayama.

Other activities
Some of our past retreatants chose to arrive in Gozo a few days before the retreat or stay on afterwards. Gozo is known as a great destination for nature walks, hiking, diving and trips to the beach or cliffs. You can also visit one of its impressive churches, the ancient megalithic temples Ggantija, local markets, or wine farms. We can also recommend a local massage therapist for those who are interested.

Why take out travel Insurance?
If you have any plans to travel, being responsible for your health and safety is just as important as having the time of your life. In addition to supporting you should you become ill, travel insurance also covers you for non-refundable deposits. As a small company we operate on a tight budget and as such have to implement a no refund policy when it comes to making a deposit. Although this helps us cover costs it won’t help you if something happens to prevent you going on your trip. Taking out travel insurance enables you to get the majority of your deposit back which will certainly lighten the mood and help you prepare financially for your next trip. As cancellation cover starts as soon as you buy insurance, it’s well-worth taking out a policy at the same time as you book, just to be on the safe side.

What is the accommodation like?
Our accommodation includes ensuite twin rooms and double bedrooms. There is also a public bathroom and toilet available. If you are coming to the retreat as a couple please let us know at the time of booking so that we reserve one of the double bedrooms for you. Towels are provided. Wireless internet and private swimming pool available.
