I have worked with Leela Chaitoo on a one to one basis along with the DBT skills group for a year now and have completed the 4 modules of the DBT programme: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotional Regulation and Interpersonal Effectiveness.
I can honestly and sincerely say that after decades of mental health problems, the therapy I undertook with Leela has changed my life in practical and profound ways. In February 2024 I was diagnosed with BPD and referred to NHS DBT service. However the waiting list was 9 months long so I decided to start the DBT programme with Mind Reframed. Leila's warmth, compassion and her expertise as a DBT therapist has changed my experience of daily life. From severe depression, destructive behaviours and suicidal ideation to inner confidence that I can heal from the years of grief and sadness that was incapacitating me and that I can cope with the ups and downs of life. Before undertaking the therapy, small things would cause me huge distress and I would resort to unhelpful and destructive behaviours to manage the feelings. As well as the distress feeling unbearable, it also damaged my relationships and made it difficult for me to function day to day. After a year of DBT I feel lighter, can get out of bed in the morning and can cope with the day without huge changes of mood and impulsive and destructive urges.

Mind-Reframed is a rare find in the therapy world. Right at the start I was impressed with the assessment session. I had worried that it might be a waste of money and a mere formality but it actually provided me with “a map” for my problems and it was easy to understand.
The therapy plan that they suggested was directly related to the changes I wanted to make in my life. Mind-Reframed and its practitioners provide the ideal environment for people who have faced trauma in their lives or are facing it now. I arrived on the course in a state of despair and chaos. I’m leaving it a year later better equipped than ever to face life’s inevitable difficulties.
The coursework is challenging, and the group and personal therapy sessions help to motivate and guide the participants. Both the group and solo therapy practitioners are immensely professional. They offer fundamental emotional and life support, in a caring yet rigorous environment. It’s impossible for me to thank the team enough for their support, encouragement and nurturing.

I followed the 9 month program in conjunction with the individual sessions and I have found it extremely useful and insightful. For many years I had been seeking to improve my relationships and lead a happier life and DBT has helped me like no other therapy before.

At Mind-Reframed I found not only compassion and empathy but also was pushed to change what didn’t work in my life. I felt fully accepted by my therapist but she also held me accountable and coached me when I wasn’t using the tools outside of therapy.

I can't begin to describe how helpful the DBT group for families was for our family. We really appreciated that it was focused on skills rather than endless discussions.
This course helped us understand and improve our patterns of communication and conflict within a few weeks. There were homework tasks allocated each week which were simple and therapeutic. The therapists running this group gave us a step-by-step guide to practicing the skills and there were opportunities to troubleshoot and get ideas and tips for times when things didn't go that well in our family. Overall, we have benefitted so much! Thank you.

I joined DBT groups online from abroad in Spain to address my ADHD Symptoms. It has been really helpful learning lessons in the modules and I find especially helpful the structure and accountability the programme brings.
My personal therapist is also very compassionate, understanding and I feel I can trust this person to help me navigate my struggles.
